Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Deep Garnet in color, this “Gran Riserva” Grenache has substantial complexity due to its extended aging in oak barrels. Cranberries, raspberries, and Santa Rosa plums with notes of violets, spun sugar, and molasses are in the nose. This is a richly textured wine, with firm tannins and an evocative finish.
Winemaker Notes
Hand-sorted fruit was 100% de-stemmed, then cold soaked in open-top fermenters for 4 days prior to yeast inoculation. Time on skins totaled 27 days prior to barreling. This Grenache completed Malolactic fermentation while aging in barrel.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with Grilled Meats, Chile Colorado with Veal, Fried Manchego with a Romesco Sauce, Charcuterie and Hard Cheeses; or for dessert, try a Chocolate Ganache topped with Blackberry Sauce.
